After a storm event, the homeowner previously worked with another contractor to pursue insurance coverage, but the damage remained unresolved. Frogtown Roofing performed a full onsite inspection in accordance with Ohio Residential Code requirements and IKO manufacturer installation and warranty standards.
The inspection identified worn shingles with granule loss, missing shingles at the hip and ridge, hail damage, soft spots, rotted decking, and skylight damage. These conditions compromised the roof’s structural integrity, increased the risk of water intrusion, and placed IKO warranty eligibility at risk.
Repairs and replacement were necessary to restore code compliance, support insurance documentation, and ensure long-term roof system performance under IKO warranty standards.
Eric worked directly with the insurance company to ensure all documented storm damage and code requirements were fully addressed. Although the original scope only included a partial roof replacement, additional documentation supported approval for full roof coverage. Frogtown Roofing installed a complete roof system using IKO Dynasty shingles in Summit Gray in accordance with Ohio Residential Code requirements and IKO manufacturer installation and warranty standards. The scope of work included installing a ridge vent, cutting in 11 can vents for proper ventilation, installing new decking around the skylight prior to replacement, replacing the skylight, installing two rows of Ice & Water Shield, and adding two bathroom exhaust vents. These improvements restored proper ventilation, moisture protection, and long-term roof system performance while maintaining full IKO warranty eligibility.
The entire Frogtown team was amazing. I was having problems with insurance covering storm damage and met Eric when he came to inspect the roof. He went above and beyond and dealt with our insurance company directly for us. He was able to get insurance to cover an entire roof replacement. Everything he explained to me was thorough and was in contact with me regarding the next step and would check in. I was never left wondering. The process from start to finish was excellent and would recommend them!
